Welcome to Matan - the gift of Jewish learning at TBI!
MATAN educates our children on how they might define and express themselves as Jews and is the communal centre for young learners. Life-long learning is vital to the vibrancy of the Jewish Community. Young people learn together and share the diversity of their backgrounds within the familiar TBI environment.
MATAN offers Jewish Studies using the Chai Curriculum, a fantastic and fun curriculum. It caters for all levels from Prep through to Year 7/8. This unique program of learning engages students and allows them to develop a comprehensive Jewish knowledge.
Mitkadem is the Hebrew Curriculum we use at MATAN. It is a five year curriculum which generates enthusiasm and fun as your children learn Hebrew. It is based upon a series of levels which each student works through at their own pace. The multi-age setting for Mitkadem is wonderful for the children's socialisation.
The vision for MATAN continues to successfully embrace Jewish knowledge and values in the lives of the students and their families. Whether attendance at MATAN is driven by the need to reach the level appropriate for B'nei Mitzvah or a broader family expectation exists, our children need to remain connected with their own Judaism whilst attending a non-Jewish day school.
We work hard to ensure all students remain connected. By establishing meaningful roles and offering informal, creative and educational opportunities, their involvement can know extraordinary depth. We believe that students will always walk through the 'exciting door'. That must be the door of MATAN.
MATAN is a school of strong character which gives us the security of knowing who we are and why we are here. Knowledge, learning and our wonderful teaching staff are central to encouraging our students to having fun being and feeling Jewish. We have seen remarkable growth in MATAN over the last two years. Word is getting around that there are outstanding educational opportunities being offered at TBI.
All age groups and a vast array of interests, strengths and knowledge are catered for within the educational offerings at MATAN. Zionism, pluralism, cultural connections and religious foundations are the faces and facets of MATAN. At MATAN we have creative ways of reaching the youth and inspiring them. We welcome families, groups and individuals so that we can become one learning community.
The next generation deserves to find a place and a purpose. They can do just that through MATAN.Come and join our talented teachers and MATAN friends and make this the place of Jewish learning for your children's Jewish future.
