TBI Music Team
Joe Stupel, Musical Director
Professional musician and music teacher, Joe arranges our music, leads the choir and provides musical accompaniment for our services. Joe has worked with the TBI music team for 50 years, as organist and choir leader.
Rhondda Hall, Cantorial Soloist
Rhondda is a cantorial soloist, who also sings regularly with our choirs and is a b’nei mitzvah tutor.
Bruce Levin, Cantorial Soloist
Bruce is a cantorial soloist, who also sings regularly with our choirs and is a b’nei mitzvah tutor.
Eli Firestone, Accompanying musician
Eli accompanies most of our choirs on bass, keyboard, organ and even on drums.

Our Choirs
TBI Choir
The TBI choir, accompanied by Joe Stupel on organ, sings on the fourth Shabbat of each month and leads the congregation in song on festivals and during High Holy Days services. Many choir members have sung together for decades and together represent about 300 years of combined experience!
The choir also performs at many cultural and interfaith events and regularly offers entertainment at Emmy Monash Homes for the Aged, B'nai B'rith, Kkadimah and the Montefiore Homes. The choir rehearses regularly and welcomes new members.
Ruach Choir
Ruach (Spirit!) choir sings in harmony to guitar accompaniment, leading the congregation in song every third Friday night and Saturday morning of the months.
Kol Simcha
Kol Simcha (The Sound of Rejoicing), directed by Sue Morgan is a choir specialising in harmonious liturgical music, usually a capella, to accompany weddings, the fifth Friday of the month Shabbat services and notably, the annual Selichot service. Membership is by audition. They sing hard, have fun and welcome new members with good pitch!
Junior Chazzanim
Our Junior Chazzanim, all school-aged and enthusiastic bring energy and excitement to our Shabbat Alive! services on the fourth Friday of each month. Their musical participation in our services includes voice, djembe, double bass, guitar and keyboard, with fresh rhythms and interpretations of familiar melodies. Impressive attendances attest to the popularity of these services with worshippers of all ages. New Junior Chazzanim are always welcome!
